PRESCHOOL PEER MODEL PROGRAM

The Early Childhood Center-based Classroom is a curriculum based special education preschool that serves children ages 3 & 4 who have special needs.

The Peer Model Program allows preschoolers without disabilities the opportunity to participate in the early childhood class and to learn through the experiences in the classroom.

By participating in classroom activities, the peer model serves as a role model to the other students by demonstrating appropriate play, communication skills, and social skills.

Criteria to qualify for the Preschool Peer Model Program:

1. Peer Models must be 3 years of age on or before August 15th.

2. Peer Models must have good social skills and speak in complete sentences.

3. Peer Models must be potty trained.

4. Peer Models must have applied to the Head Start Program (308-872-6540).

5. Head Start Representative must sign application.

6. If you have any questions or concerns, please call the SESC office at 308-872-5606.

7. Do not call the preschool or the preschool teacher at her home.

*Peer Model Applications are available in the SESC office on January 4, 2010. Please fill out the Peer Model Application form and return it on or before February 6, 2010 to:
